Ajungem curand in Piata Independentei, care este, de fapt, un mare parc. Aici se afla principalele cladiri guvernamentale precum Senatul si Consiliul de Ministri.
Consiliul de MinistriPiata – cea mai mare din Tashkent – are mai mult de 100 de ani. Mai intai, aici a fost o fortareata militara (1865) a Guvernatorului General al Turkestanului, apoi loc de defilare cu ocazia sarbatorilor comuniste.

Arcul Independentei si Monumentul Independentei sunt obiective fotografice importante. Cupluri de tineri proaspat casatoriti vin aici sa se fotografieze. Parcul, plin de fantani, este minunat intretinut de echipe de muncitori, imbracati in uniforme speciale. Totul e atat de curat incat ai impresia ca te afli intr-un laborator. De altfel, in aceasta zona nu exista banci asa ca nimeni nu se poate aseza si sa lase mizerie in urma sa. Curatenia deosebita a acestui oras m-a impresionat peste tot, nu doar aici.

Tot in acest parc, un alt complex monumental impresioneaza vizitatorul: Monumentul eroilor nationali ai celui de-al doilea razboi mondial.

Undeva, la marginea parcului, se zareste cladirea Filarmonicii.

Pasii ne duc apoi catre Canalul Ankhor, marginit de copaci si punctat de cateva ceainarii, loc de relaxare minunat. De acolo ne intoarcem spre hotel, unde ajungem spre seara, nu inainte de a vizita Muzeul National de Istorie si Muzeul Timurizilor.

The Independence Square is actually a big park! The Main government buildings are here: the Senate and the Ministry Council.
The biggest square in Tashkent is more than 100 years old. At the beginning, in 1815, it was here that the General Governor of Turkestan built his fortress. Much later, this was the place were all the communist parades were held. The Independence Arch and the Independence Monument are important objectives. Newly weds come to have their photos taken here. The park has many fountains and it is very well kept. Another impressive monument is that dedicated to the national heroes of the WW2.The Uzbekistan Concert Hall is right near the park.
We saw then the Ankhor Channel, a green place, with a lot of tea shops, a wonderful place of relaxation. From here we turned back to our hotel but not before to visit the National History Museum and the Timurids’ Museum.

Am fost în aceste locuri, pe un traseu Taskent – Samarkand – Buhara în 1990, într-o vacanta de vara si aceasta excursie într-un spatiu care era înca sovietic mi-a ramas drept una dintre cele mai frumoase amintiri de calatorie.
Ma bucur acum sa redescopar prin aceste imagini si impresii crâmpeie din acea nota locala uzbeka ce mi s-a parut fascinanta. Va admir eforturile facute pentru ca sunt convins ca astazi este mult mai greu de ajuns într-o astfel de zona (în 1990 înca se putea relativ usor prin ONT).

Multumesc pentru comentariu, Adrian! Nu as putea spune ca a fost greu, ci doar ca a trebuit sa pregatesc cu atentie detaliile pentru ca totul sa mearga bine. A fost, deci, nevoie de mai multa informatie. In rest, a fost minunat, foarte bine organizata excursia de catre cei de acolo.

Acum,dupa ce am vazut si restul pozelor,imi dau seama ca,intr-adevar,m-am inselat cand am comparat Tashkentul cu Chisinaul.Este un oras foarte frumos,incarcat de istorie si de o cultura bogata,si, cu siguranta,daca voi avea, ocazia am sa-l vizitez.

Yes, these buildings and spaces are “impressive” but not really to my taste… it all has the non-human scale of old Soviet style. Perhaps that is what VP reacted to as well. I do like the lamppost, though. 🙂

May be you are right, Francisca but as I visited a lot of other cities and towns in the former USSR (e.g. Moscow, Kiev, former Leningrad, Riga, Tallin, Vilnius, Tbilisi, Erevan, Baku, Soci, Suhumi)it didn’t look so strange for me.

Yes, Doug, the city is very clean, at least were we have been. Many worker teams have been in the parks, attending the trees, grass, and flower beds.
