I had a plan for the day but I was not in a hurry. I strolled along the alley, taking photos and absorbing the beauty around me. There have been other photographers too and I could read in their eyes their admiration for the wonderful flowers.
There are, in Japan, over 100 varieties, cultivated to adorn the gardens, the temples and the streets. Of course I am not a specialist but still I can tell you that one may differentiate the flowers after the number of the petals (usually 5-20 but there are also flowers with aprox. 100 petals), after the color (beside white and pink it seems there are yellow ones too but I have not seen them), after the blooming time or the form of the trees (I love the weeping ones).
With their keen esthetic sense and their love for nature, the Japanese established the tradition of hanami, which means to admire the cherry flowers. Early in the morning, to catch the best place, they put blue plastic sheets on the ground, underneath the cherries. Later on they come with family or friends on a picnic. A bulletin is published on the internet with the best flowering period in different places, so they can go and admire them.
Please consider what you see here only an appetizer, as the sakura followed me during all my stay in Japan…and the pines, the beautiful Japanese pines, which I love so much…
Citeam in ochii tuturor admiratia pentru aceasta minune.
Beautiful!!!
They are breathtaking,like a heaven!
I’m happy you enjoyed sakura in Kyoto to the full.
Thank you for sharing amazing pics!
These trees are so lovely.
Thank you, Kumiko! This was the first day in Kyoto and the weather was not good. Nevertheless, the splendor of sakura, shows.
Thank you, Randy!
Oh lovely.
I can’t stop staring at them. My craving to see beautiful cherry blossoms was satisfied looking at your photos, my dear friend.
Been looking at cherry blossoms photos since last night.
Thanks a lot for sharing this, Traveling Hawk. I love it.
You are welcome, my friend! I am glad you like them, Rizalenio.
Oh, Doamne !!! Mi-ai pus paie pe foc, Adriana !!!
Ciresii infloriti sint extraordinari , m-au lasat fara cuvinte … O sa-i visez la noapte.
Daca urmaresti serialul Dani, vei visa multe nopti de acum incolo fiindca tot vin! Nu a fost zi in care sa nu-i vad, la Kyoto.
Aaaaaaa, is fantastic place!!!!!!!
Is lovely!!!
Thank you my friend for this wonderful tour in paradise!!!!!
Many greetings and kisses
I’m glad you like it, Magda dear!
Pure eye candy! I’ve wanted to hanami under the sakura for a long time!
It was a marvel, Francisca!
Certainly a surprise when you suddenly see what a channel is surrounded by flowering cherries. Too bad the weather is not as nice, but the blossoms made quite a few good 🙂 Also, I would shoot for it is a beautiful sight. Also nice that they have put on intrnet.
Greetings, Helma
Yes, Helma, you are right! It was nice to see that I have the cherry trees so near to me.
