(din ciclul: Un vis portughez in China: Macao)
Aventura culinara m-a costat 62 HK$, adica 6 €.

My Favourite Food in Macao Was…Koreean!
I didn’t experienced much in the food field in Macao, because of the short time I stayed there. There is a lot of Chinese food, of course, so I ate rice with mushrooms and chicken (3.45 €) and fried noodles (1.20 €), a 4.65 € lunch one cannot find in Europe! I just came back from Germany some days ago. The least expensive lunch I ate there was priced 16 €.
In the central part of the city, different sorts of dumplings with different fillings, fish and fried shrimps could be eaten as street food. Along with the pastais de nata (the egg tarts about which I bloged already) and the dried and salt cod, the Portuguese bacalhau, very thin pieces of dried beef seem to be a local specialty.
Wandering in the non-touristic part of the city, we stumbled upon a small restaurant (only 3 tables) were a Chinese pair and a Filipino were both owners and waiters. To my surprise, they read the meniu for us from a note-book, which seems to contain the recipes too! I was a moment in doubt after I ordered, thinking that, may be, they just learn how to cook!
After my meals arrived I had no doubts at all! The food was excellent! I ate ramen with vegetables ( Koreean soup, with carrots, peas, some Asiatic mushroom I also eat in Japan) and kimchi with pork and rice. Kimchi is a specific Koreean dish, made of sour cabbage, made very hot with chilli. I washed down all these with a green tea. All these for only 6 euro!
It all looks tasty.
And it was, Randy! Happy Sunday!
They all look delicious:)
Oh,you tried ramen and kimuchi? Good to know that you like them.
Ramen and kimuchi are our favorite foods in Japan, too.
I bought URSUS beer today.I updated my blog today:)
Hi, Kumiko! Today we celebrate Orthodox Easter, here. Did you like URSUS? It’s a popular sort of beer here in Romania, but I prefer TIMISOREANA, the beer produced in my town. Here it is the oldest beer factory in the country.
Yes, I like ramen and kimchi. I eat ramen at home too, bought from the superstore. We also do a kind of kimchi, which is only sour but not hot.
I will see your blog immediately:)
I’ll try it tonight! I can hardly wait.
And I want to try TIMISOREANA some day:)
Good for you! I’m waiting:)
Delicious looking meals!
Thank you, Doug! I was in Germany so I am behind with reading my readers’ blogs. I will catch up this afternoon.
Thanks a lot, Helma!
