Stories of Rajahsthan 44. Old and New in Agra

I have not been too critical till now but Agra seemed to me the most chaotic and dirtiest place where I have been during this journey.

At the outskirts of the town, the same one level structures with tiny shops, selling everything. The street is dirty and the houses look abandoned.

Here and there, a poster reminds about education or presents the congratulations of some politicians to the people who voted them.

As we approach the center, there are more and more vehicles, mostly motorbikes and tuk-tuks, supervised by…monkeys! They moved so slowly, so I took some pics but not very good ones. Sorry. But, at least, you can imagine what I am talking about.

There are also some newer buildings, demonstrating the progress in town but it is no reason enough I will ever move here…

I was so dissapointed by the way Agra looks like (even if I was prevented), that we stayed at the hotel. It was already late and we were after a long and tiresome day.  I was so tired that I left the good hotel (Crystal Inn) we stayed there, without photos, excepting a very “eco” advice, found in the bathroom.

  1. Unfortunately, Magda, everyday life in India is not always and for everybody so joyful. There are a lot of very poor people and the environment they live into is not proper everywhere. There are still many things to do there.

  3. Greetings from Southern California.
