Thassos Revisited 11. Food in Thassos
Souvlaki is, of course, the best known disg in Greece. Chicken or pork and French fries – everybody likes this mixture. But if you add a baked aubergine, with garlic, it’s even better! A green figs jam on fat, Greek, yoghurt on the house, complete the meal in Phillipi.
In Limenaria we ate another traditional Thassos dish, called exhotico. It’s pork baked together with carrots, garlic and peppers.
In the evening, in Potos, the taverns are full of tourists who came from different locations on the island for the good food. We ate at the “Irene” tavern, recommended by many Romanians of forums and blogs.
Kazaviti was not only a beautiful mountain village, we also ate well at one of the tavern in the centre of the village. We choosed simple dishes like baked huge white beans and stuffed wine leaves with sour cream.
And because we appreciated the white beans so much, we recidivated in Theologos. We add a pork and lamb grill.
The food is very good in Greece, and it goes well with a cold Mythos bear, a Greek wine or a retsina.
Mouthwatering. I tried greek food long time ago here in Manila, the resto’s name is CYMA. I love the taste of their food.
Yummy yummy yummy photos! Happy weekend! 🙂
