At the beginning, the place was the propriety of Fujiwara clan. Then, in 1450, Katsumoto Hosokawa buyed it and disposed the construction of the rock garden, after the propriety has been burned in a war. He also transformed the temple into a Zen one.
The rock garden attracts all the visitors, so I found it difficult to contemplate and to take in the beauty of the place. The internet offers a lot of information about it, so I resume to bring into attention the beautiful forest garden around the Kyoyo-chi Pond (“pond in mirror form”). A lot of cherry trees, magnolias, pom pom tsugi and other trees, along with beautiful moss make a place one could enjoy and admire. The Bentenjima islet flashes the red color of a tori.
The blooms are just so lovely.

It could be but for the crowd, Life Ramblings!
Yes, they are beautiful, Joop!
As I wrote somewhere Doug, I try to bring new aspects in every post. I think that, may be, some of the readers get bored to see so many temples, so I choose what it is more specific for every one! Of course I have a lot of photos for each temple:)
I’m glad you like them, Rizalenio! It is a real show, indeed!
Again you’ve aroused my desire to return to Kyoto in the spring. These cherry blossom photos make me sigh… Lovely, TH!
No problem, Francisca! You are much nearer than me:)
